Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Research Program for U.S. Teachers

This is a three to six month program for American K-12 teachers to conduct research and pursue individual inquiry projects at a host university, education institute or non-profit organization. The topics of the inquiry project should be relevant to American as well as Moroccan education. Participants audit courses for professional development at their host institution, and/or work with local education organizations, observe classes in local Moroccan schools, share their expertise with teachers and students at primary and secondary schools, and engage in other teaching related activities.

  • US citizenship
  • Employed full-time at an accredited K-12 school;
  • A holder of a Master’s degree or be enrolled in a Master’s program at the time when the grant begins;
  • A teacher with a minimum of five years full-time teaching experience
  • Eligible educators include classroom teachers, guidance counselors, curriculum coordinators, special education coordinators, media specialists, librarians, gifted and talented coordinators, and others who spend at least half of their time interacting with students.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and leading professional development activities;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Flexibility;
  • Able to meet current J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) eligibility requirements regarding previous grants.
