Fulbright Program (FSP)

Fulbright Specialist Program (FSP)

The Fulbright Specialist Program allows Moroccan universities, research institutions, and others to design projects for an American specialist to consult with them for periods of two to six weeks. While the institutions are largely universities, other institutions – financial, governmental, medical facilities, cultural centers, and NGOs – are welcome to participate.

The program aims at strengthening linkages between the U.S. and the Moroccan host institution.

The program is also an opportunity for American academics and professionals to share their expertise, hone their skills, gain international experience, strengthen institutional linkages, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.

Through the Fulbright Specialist Program, U.S. academics and professionals can apply their knowledge and expertise to a diverse array of activities including, but not limited to:

  • Delivering a seminar or workshop
  • Consulting on faculty or workforce development
  • Developing academic or training curricula and materials
  • Lecturing at the graduate or undergraduate level
  • Conducting needs assessments or evaluations for a program or institution

Eligible Project Activities

The Fulbright Specialist Program encourages host institutions to tailor projects to their own needs. However, all projects should have an education or training focus. Due to the short-term nature of the exchange, projects should have concrete objectives that can be achieved over the course of the Specialist’s visit. Past Specialists have supported host institutions by conducting activities such as:

  • Delivering a seminar or workshop

  • Consulting on faculty or workforce development

  • Developing academic or training curricula and materials

  • Lecturing at the graduate or undergraduate level

  • Conducting needs assessments or evaluations for a program or institution

Note: Personal research projects, including clinical medical research or projects involving patient contact, are not eligible for funding under the Fulbright Specialist Program.

In addition, proposals requesting a Specialist to assist with activities focused specifically on English language such as designing curriculum or conducting a needs assessment, teacher training or high-level educational consultations, are not eligible for the general Fulbright Specialist Program.

Interested Moroccan Institutions should complete the following form to request a U.S. Fulbright Specialist: Request-Form-for-Moroccan-Institutions – Fulbright Specialist. The Moroccan institutional leader should complete the form and return it as a word document to Program Officer Sarah Robyn at  [email protected]
