The Fulbright Specialist Program (FSP) was established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) to encourage foreign institutions to invite short-term “specialists” to come and consult over specific projects and developments the institutions may want to pursue.  While the institutions are largely universities, other institutions – financial, governmental, NGOs – are welcome to participate. In the case of Morocco, the Specialist Program allows Moroccan universities, research institutions, and others  to design projects for an American specialist to consult with them for periods of two to six weeks. The Specialist Program aims at strengthening linkages between the U.S. and the Moroccan host institution. Participating Moroccan host institutions benefit by:

  • Gaining perspectives and advice from experienced U.S. academics and professionals
  • Developing relations with American individuals and institutions that endure beyond the Fulbright grant
  • Providing the American Specialist with the experience of understanding Moroccan perspectives.

Interested institutions should complete the following form to request a U.S. Fulbright Specialist: Request-Form-for-Moroccan-Institutions – Fulbright Specialist. The Moroccan institutional leader should complete the form and return it to:
